Being a lector is more than just being a good reader.  A lector is proclaiming the Good News in a manner so that all may hear and understand God's presence in the Word. 


A lector has several duties to perform:

• processing with the Bible
• reading either the first or second reading
• reading the general intercessions
• reading the announcements at final blessing
• practice and reflect on readings prior to Mass

A training workshop is provided for those who wish to proclaim the Word of God.


Anyone over the age of 14 is welcome to be a lector.
